On September 7th, I learned about listening activities at YNF, a specified non-profit organization, and actually accompanied them to the listening activities.

On September 8th, I was given a tour of the disaster area by a representative from the disaster NGO Yui, and I was reminded once again of the scale of the damage, and that it still takes time for recovery to take place.

From September 16th, we accompanied members of the disaster NPO Uwajima 7.7 from Uwajima and the NPO Tohoku Volunteer Volunteer Association Kagawa from Kagawa to the activity base of the disaster NGO Yui, which provides disaster relief.

We learned how to shovel dirt from under the floor, and started by removing the floorboards. The insulation material that had been installed several years ago had become heavy with water and had fallen off, so we removed it all and disposed of it.Under the floor, several people worked their way to every corner of the house. A relay method was used to get the insulation and mud out. Install several small circulators to help dry the area under the floor.

They were happy to be able to remove their belongings from their room and explain the steps to clean up. It turns out that the way we normally respond to people can be useful in other areas as well.

The training session made us realize that there are still issues to be solved in order to cooperate within Shikoku in the event of the Nankai Trough mega-earthquake.
