To the Next Stage
Uwajima NPO Center has moved to a new address
Ushi-oni Meeting has moved to Uwajima Citizen Collaboration Center.
The July 2018 West Japan Heavy Rain Disaster left a profound scar on Uwajima City. To promptly deliver necessary aid to those affected, volunteers from local individuals, businesses, NPOs, public organizations, and government agencies gathered to form the "Ushioni Council," which shared information on disasters occurring in various regions. Since then, regular meetings have continued to be held, addressing the changing phases since the disaster and working to create a community resilient to future predicted disasters. The Ushioni Council continues its activities to build such a community.
Just as the Uwajima regional folk tradition of "Ushioni" protects people from calamities and holds a special place for the people of this region, the "Ushioni Council" will continue to act as a hub for information sharing and dissemination in Uwajima, watching over its hometown.
