Welcome to the Ushioni Conference.
The heavy rain disaster in Western Japan that occurred in July 2018 left a huge mark here in Uwajima City. In order to quickly deliver the necessary support to those affected, local individuals, companies, NPOs, public organizations, and government volunteers gathered to organize the "Ushi-oni Conference" to share information about disasters that occurred in each region. Since then, regular meetings have been held to this day, and the "Ushi-oni Conference" continues to work to face the changing phases since the disaster occurred and to create a local community that can respond to predicted future disasters.
Just as the "Ushi-oni," a traditional culture of the Uwajima region that protects people from disasters, holds a special presence to the people of this region, the "Ushi-oni Conference" will continue to act as a hub for sharing and disseminating information about Uwajima, watching over their hometown, Uwajima.
