As a practical department that supports the coastal, island, and local areas of Uwajima, we foster local capabilities that can respond to disasters, even in normal times, through beach cleaning, support in hard-to-reach areas, heavy machinery training, and human resource development.
As a hands-on division supporting Uwajima’s coastal areas, islands, and local field sites, we strengthen the community’s capacity to respond in times of disaster by carrying out coastal cleanups, support activities in hard-to-access areas, heavy machinery training, and personnel development during normal times.

Through cleanup and environmental conservation activities in coastal areas, shorelines, and remote islands, we identify local issues on site and connect them to practical support.

March 1, 2026 Heavy Equipment Training Conducted
災害時の初動支援を見据え、実践的な重機講習を実施しました。狭所や不整地での操作、安全確認、作業時の判断力を学び、地域内で動ける支援人材の育成を進めています。
With an eye toward initial disaster response, we conducted practical heavy equipment training. Participants learned how to operate in confined spaces and on uneven ground, perform safety checks, and make sound judgments during operations, as we continue to develop support personnel who can operate within the community.
June 28, 2025 5th Coastal Cleanup in Tojima Island
June 28, 2025: 5th Coastal Cleanup at Tojima
Tojima Island was the location of a coastal cleanup activity. In collaboration with Clean the Coast and other related organizations, we collected washed-up debris and large waste items, reaffirming the importance of sustained support in hard-to-reach areas.

Hiburijima Island: We carried out support activities in a remote island region through a coastal cleanup on Hiburijima Island. Working in cooperation with local organizations and related agencies, we are promoting initiatives that both preserve the coastal environment and improve on-site response capabilities.
