3-Purpose |
・In the event of a large-scale disaster such as a Nankai Trough mega-earthquake, it is expected that there will be a shortage of disaster volunteers, including pro bono personnel. In preparation for a large-scale disaster, it is necessary to build a network between volunteer groups active in the Shikoku region, share know-how, train highly specialized volunteers, and create a mutual support system in emergencies. In this project, numerous experience-based booths will be set up, and through tours and experiences, participants will learn about activities during disasters, and have the opportunity to think about children's future hopes and family preparations. The aim is to get participants interested in disaster prevention and mitigation, and to develop the ability to act calmly and have a sense of crisis and be prepared for a possible future Nankai Trough earthquake and the disasters that have occurred in recent years. |

7- Overview |
Despite the heavy rain on the day, many visitors came. We apologize for the inconvenience, as some booths had to be moved to the Paku Park 2 venue in Kisaiya Square, but everyone who came visited more than eight booths, collected stamps and won prizes. The Uwajima Police Station exhibit also had some different exhibits than usual, which the children enjoyed. Many people also tried out the rain experience vehicle in heavy rain. This time, 20 exhibiting organizations from the four Shikoku prefectures gathered, providing an opportunity for disaster relief organizations to connect with each other and learn about each other's activities. It also helped participants improve their disaster preparedness and realize that their skills and strengths can be useful in the event of a disaster. In order to complete the experiences given for each phase, we divided the events that occur and the support needed in response to changes in living environment over time from before the disaster occurred to the time of recovery, and had the participants experience what was appropriate for each phase. Those who completed the stamp rally were asked to write down "My special skill" and "What I can do in the event of a disaster" and were then guided to take the stamps home and discuss them with their families. This event has further strengthened bonds between the four prefectures since last year. Sandbags were also made from sand donated by Shintsu Co., Ltd. and donated to a storage facility in preparation for the next disaster. |
