7- Overview |
We have been holding Ushi-oni Conference workshops since last year, but this time the participants were particularly enthusiastic, and everyone cooperated and exchanged opinions at the workshop. Foreign participants also participated and discussed evacuation routes. Students from the Disaster Prevention Geography Club at Uwajima Higashi High School gave a presentation on "The implementation status and challenges of the six-school joint evacuation drill" in Bunkyo Ward, Uwajima City. Using drone footage, we were able to clearly watch a video of the students' movements, demonstrating their ongoing activities in carrying out truly large-scale evacuation drills. Next, Mr. Tominaga from the Crisis Management Division of Uwajima City gave a lecture on "How to read hazard maps and evacuation signs to obtain tsunami evacuation information" and also explained how to use the Uwajima City app, Datena Uwajima Hot Navi. Everyone was seen taking out their phones and actually using it, showing the high level of interest. In the group work, each group was given a different situation and conditions for evacuation, which allowed everyone to work together as one. Many of the participants were high school students, who took the initiative to present and summarized their ideas well, and the results of the post-event survey showed that the participants were very satisfied with the project. I'm really looking forward to building on this next time. |
