7- Overview |
Following the previous kickoff, three professors (one former professor) spoke about the phases of large-scale disasters and information sharing, the intersection of disaster response and innovation, and local communities and disaster-resilient towns - so that no one is left behind. Each topic was too good to be covered in more than 10 minutes, so I would like to have more time in the future to give more detailed lectures. After the teachers' presentations, each school gave their opinions and impressions, and I was amazed at the students' quick thinking and ability to understand. In addition, students who were affected by the heavy rains in July 2018 are also participating, and the activity is allowing them to share their experiences with people in areas that were not affected by the disaster, raising hopes for future developments. The course included some thought-provoking content, including what self-help and mutual help are, and the three teachers worked together to create something like a mathematical formula, which I found very interesting in terms of how the students will be thinking about this in the future. |
