7- Overview |
First, we had them watch a short video summarizing the heavy rains that occurred in July 2018, and then we had a general discussion about what volunteering is. After that, the students were divided into grade levels and had the opportunity to experience how to use toilets in emergencies, participate in a workshop on making cardboard toilets, and learn about oral care in emergencies. Today we held a cardboard toilet workshop with the cooperation of Mr. Kido from Anshindo Saijo Office and a disaster prevention specialist from Yoshida Town in Saijo City. During the emergency toilet training course, participants actually experienced the difference in absorption between coagulants, pet sheets, and newspapers. As for oral care during a disaster, the students were happy with the taste of the toothpaste sheets. In their comments, the oral care aspect was the most positive. They were impressed that they could brush their teeth with the amount of water in a plastic bottle cap. |
