Rope work experience

At the Uwajima Area Regional Affairs Association Fire Department Headquarters booth, children were able to see a ladder truck on display and experience riding it, as well as try their hand at rope work and rescue training for collapsing buildings. Rope work seemed difficult, but some tried it many times. In fact, I have tried it several times, but I tend to forget about it unless I practice it every day. I will also try practicing while watching videos.

A display of cooking vehicles from the Ground Self-Defense Force Matsuyama Garrison. It is said that you can cook while running and even fry food. I learned that nutrition can be provided in times of disaster. Many people visited the panel display on the 2018 heavy rain disaster.

The ride was popular at the Uwajima Police Station booth, with many people lining up to try the ride. They had the police car's siren sound on them, rode on a white motorcycle, took pictures of everyone from small children to adults, and said they wanted to ride on a white motorcycle in the future.

Even though it was the last Sunday of summer vacation, the Canvas Homework Squad took on the challenge of creating picture postcards and human rights posters. Since it is a group of former teachers, they are very close to the children as they teach, and I learned a lot from it myself.

Soft-boiled pork from the Children's Cafeteria Liaison Council is on sale for 200 yen. Free for those under 18. Some people were looking forward to the sale even before the sales time, making us realize that children's cafeterias are expanding in the area.

Natural Kobo La Vita's meat sauce pasta was boiled after the order was placed, so it was very delicious and went perfectly with the sauce. I would definitely like to eat it again.

Our Uwajima NPO Center sold shaved ice. We also recruited volunteers to help with sales, preparation, and clean-up operations. Volunteers ranging from junior high school students to university students are repeat volunteers! So, since I was well aware of the situation and was moving on my own, things went smoothly. The disaster prevention officer volunteers from outside the prefecture took about three hours to make the trip, but they were very helpful from early in the morning and volunteered to help.

The next Uwajima Disaster Prevention Box will be held in February next year. Please feel free to volunteer or participate★
