7-Overview

For second-year students at Yoshida Junior High School , we held a course on how to assemble cardboard beds, how to weave paracord, an evacuation shelter management HUG game, and catfish school.

The HUG game is a game where a major earthquake occurs and students have to manage an evacuation center.

We asked groups to simulate where they would guide people who had evacuated during a disaster.

I received feedback from students who had never actually been to an evacuation center that ``it was difficult because evacuees (cards) were coming in one after another,'' but in reality, evacuees were coming in one after another.

Create a reception. Some children were worried about the physical condition of the evacuees, their pets, family composition, nationality, and the situation where temporary toilets were being installed .

It seems that the students had seen cardboard beds on TV before, but this was the first time they had actually seen or made one, and they took it very seriously.

Accuracy and speed are essential in everything you do!

After making it, everyone in the group tried riding on the cardboard bed! It was so cute to see them sitting in fear that it might collapse ♪ And I was impressed that it didn't collapse even with 7 people on board.

Paracord (parachute cord) Recently, you can see knitted paracord for sale. Knitted paracord can be attached to a bag or wrapped around the arm as an accessory, used to hang laundry to dry at evacuation centers during disasters, and used as shoelaces, fire starters, dental floss, and thread.

It seems that many of the students were knitting for the first time. When the staff showed them that if they knitted it correctly, it would become one string if they were pulled, they said, ``Oh! ” and they were eagerly knitting.

 catfish school

This is a disaster prevention card game that asks you what tools to use to help those in need of rescue during a disaster. Item cards are distributed to each team, and they are asked to choose the appropriate tool for the rescue. In the event of a disaster, people may be crushed under furniture, bleeding, or broken bones. It seems that through this game, the children learned what kind of things can be used in various situations, and what kind of things they should have.

Among the comments I heard were, ``I will put a large handkerchief in my disaster bag'' and ``I want to be willing to take action if something happens.''
