July 13, 2025: Chinaga Beach Cleanup Event
On Saturday, July 13, the "Beach Clean-up Event in Chinaga" was held at Chinaga Coast in Yoshida Town, Uwajima City, to help clean up the local sea.
This event was carried out with the cooperation of the Uwajima NPO Center, clean the coast, Disaster NPO Uwajima 7.7, Uwajima City, the Lions Club, and local residents, with a total of approximately 40 participants.
Despite the intense heat, participants carefully picked up trash that had fallen into the gaps of the tetrapods, using their hands and tongs. The collected items included various types of waste such as combustible waste, non-combustible waste, microplastics, and even retro-packaged garbage from the Showa era.
After the clean-up, participants enjoyed curry rice and fruit punch specially prepared by "Yoshida Inubi Shokudo," a community kitchen operating in Yoshida Town, savoring the delicious meal with a sense of accomplishment.
