🫖 Tea party
We hold a tea party on the fourth Thursday of every month. This time, we welcomed a guest from Dai-ichi Life Insurance as a guest and had him talk about "inheritance."
The lecturer spoke about the importance of thinking about "who," "what," and "how much" to leave behind so that surviving family members are not left in any trouble, and many questions were asked by the participants. The small-group tea party provided a space for participants to discuss their doubts and worries about end-of-life planning in a friendly atmosphere.
🧪 Health check experience
In addition, there was a health check time by Dai-ichi Life. They experienced things like vascular age, grip strength, skin moisture, and vegetable check. There was lively conversation, with comments like "You're not eating enough vegetables," "Your skin looks young!" and "Your grip strength is getting weaker."
We participated and were shocked at the results, which showed that our skin and blood vessels looked older than our actual age (laughs).
🎯 Purpose of the activity
This event was held to encourage elderly people to go out and create opportunities for interaction.
💬 Comments from staff
Although the topic of inheritance may seem familiar, there are many things that people don't know about, and we've heard people say, "I don't know who to talk to about it."
We saw a lot of real questions, such as, "What happens to your assets if you don't have children?" and "Are there any costs for giving up your assets?", which showed how much people were interested in the issue.
End-of-life planning has a negative image, but I thought it would be wonderful to organize information little by little and write an end-of-life note like a diary.
Recently, it seems that it is becoming common to "choose a funeral portrait while still alive" 😝
