-Through this experience, participants will develop an interest in disaster prevention and mitigation, create a system that will enable them to act calmly in the event of a future Nankai Trough earthquake or the disasters that have occurred in recent years, and develop a sense of crisis and the ability to be prepared. ・We asked the members of the senior citizens club, who are living in fear of the April 17th Bungo Channel earthquake, to think about what they can do to prepare for an emergency, their initial actions, necessary preparations, food, toilets, and water. The aim was to create a personal timeline and prepare for it. |

7- Overview |
I explained that when Tenjin Community Center issues a special notice of a major earthquake in the Nankai Trough, evacuees will come from other areas. Many people did not know this. I explained what to prepare in an emergency bag while showing them on a flip chart, and showed them actual disaster prevention goods samples that were on display. I also briefly mentioned toilets in disasters, and told stories of events that actually happened during the Great East Japan Earthquake and the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. Some people did not know about My Timeline, and some people did not know about the My Timeline published by Uwajima City, so I handed them the My Timeline sheet published by Uwajima City and asked them to think about it. During the Q&A session at the end, we received many questions, and everyone listened with great interest. It was a very enjoyable time. Some participants said they learned a lot, and expressed their enthusiasm for their future activities. |
