7- Overview |
Even before the broadcast of the evacuation drill, many local residents had gathered in the park, showing their high level of awareness. After the broadcast, many elderly people and people of other nationalities joined the event. There were also participants carrying small children and people evacuating with their dogs, and the number of participants was greater than expected. The slope was steeper than expected, and even young people had difficulty climbing to the top, but elderly people managed to climb to the end, even with the help of walking sticks. Chairman Takahashi had removed the moss in advance, so no one slipped, but we felt that local people should regularly clean up the evacuation route. Our center handed out disaster prevention hand towels to participants as participation prizes, which further promoted disaster prevention awareness. |
