3-Purpose |
-Through this experience, participants will develop an interest in disaster prevention and mitigation, create a system that will enable them to act calmly in the event of a future Nankai Trough earthquake or the disasters that have occurred in recent years, and develop a sense of crisis and the ability to be prepared. ・We will have participants see the erosion control works at three locations under construction, and let them understand the necessity of erosion control works and the actual construction situation. In addition, just because a erosion control dam has been built does not mean it is safe, so we aim to raise disaster prevention awareness through disaster prevention lectures. |

7- Overview |
Starting from Okuminami Community Center, we toured Minami Kimi River, joined by elderly people living nearby, and explained that it will be completed within this fiscal year. We then moved to Izaki River, where we toured a dam that was built differently from Minami Kimi River, and learned that soil is collected there and cement is made on-site. We actually climbed up to the top of the dam and had the opportunity to experience hitting the ground with a hammer. Finally, after a tour of Higashi Kama River, we returned to the community center, where the Disaster Prevention Measures Office Construction Department gave a lecture, and the Uwajima NPO Center gave a lecture on toilets in the event of a disaster. The participants had the opportunity to try out the experience, and although it was only adult men, they enjoyed it. They nodded deeply and listened with interest. We also mentioned the topic of evacuation bags, encouraging them to prepare toilets at home in the event of a disaster. |
