I went to Motekoro Shokudo for the first time in a while. The usual staff members were there and everything went smoothly. This time, we invited a fortune teller and a cafe corner to come and write messages of support and draw pictures to take to evacuation shelters in the event of an earthquake in the Noto Peninsula. The children searched for illustration candidates on their own, came up with designs and worked hard to draw. The messages were also heartwarming, and we hope to be able to deliver these feelings to the children as soon as possible. We had a teacher from Atelier Palette, a painting class in Uwajima City, come and give the children advice and help with their artwork to write the messages of support. The fortune teller came from Ozu City, and although there were quite a few people waiting in line, the fortune teller extended the time and spoke at length to the last person. Some people were in tears, and it became clear that there are many people who are troubled. In the cafe corner, guests were able to fill out a questionnaire, sip their favorite drink, and enjoy conversation with people they hadn't seen in a long time. |
