-Through this experience, participants will develop an interest in disaster prevention and mitigation, and will be able to act calmly in the event of a future Nankai Trough earthquake or other recent disasters, and will develop a sense of urgency and preparedness.

・Participants will gain knowledge to respond in the event of a disaster by carrying out the evacuation shelter from storage, assembling cardboard beds and partition tents, and preparing and responding to the evacuation shelter. They will also learn about the necessary things for operating an evacuation shelter and evacuation guidance signs.

The students actually set up an evacuation shelter together with disaster prevention specialists, built the shelter they had designed, and learned about evacuation shelter management and evacuation guidance signs in the classroom. The students also gave presentations on the ideas they had used to set up the evacuation shelter, and many of them gained a real sense of what it would be like to actually manage an evacuation shelter themselves.

Although there were limitations to setting up in a short amount of time, I think it was a great experience.

We also had a member of the Crisis Management Division come and give us some guidance. Thanks to the proper guidance, the students were able to quickly understand and set up the tents.
