7-Overview |
Five elderly people in Yoshida Town made keema curry and white rice based on the hot water pocha recipe from the home economics club at Uwajima Higashi High School Tsushima Branch. While bathing, the children learned that they could make paper plates and cover them with plastic bags so that they could be used in the event of a disaster. We put white rice on a plate, poured curry, and everyone said it was better than they expected and that they wanted to tell their grandchildren about it. Some people said that this is fine if you are only making one serving. In the afternoon, we made matcha red bean steamed bread and sampled it with the visiting elderly people. After finishing the meal, I took time to talk about disaster prevention with the participants, thinking that it was great to be able to eat such a variety of foods in the event of a disaster. |
