- Have elementary and junior high school students in Uwajima City experience the toilet environment during a disaster and learn about the importance of toilets. ・The purpose is to get students interested in disaster prevention and mitigation through hands-on experience, and to practice evacuation with their neighbors while simulating an actual disaster and confirming the evacuation route to the evacuation site. |

A disaster prevention camp sponsored by the Uwajima City PTA Federation was held on October 14th and 15th, and our center held a nighttime worship session about toilet environments in times of disaster. The children seemed to be having fun just using the toilet, and were able to perform worship with such enthusiasm that even the adults were astonished. When asked what they would not be able to resist in the event of a disaster, most children answered the toilet. The students actually assembled a cardboard toilet and were divided into three groups to try out newspapers, pet sheets, and coagulants, and they were surprised at the differences between each. He promised to learn how to tie up used bags and store them in what size bags, and then talk about them with his family at home. Having a toilet environment during a disaster is really helpful, so we want to make it widely known. |
