7-Overview |
This time's tea party will be about making Uwajima's famous confectionery ``Karaman''! A local person served as a lecturer and spent the morning and afternoon making sweet and delicious tomato buns for the residents of Yoshida Town. There are some people who live in Uwajima who don't know about Karaman, so I thought it would be great if we could pass on the food of Uwajima to the next generation. The project was easily affected by changes in temperature, and sometimes things didn't go smoothly on the day, but we were able to work together. We live in the countryside, so if we need something that we don't have, we can go home and bring it home, cook it in the microwave at home, etc. We can cooperate with each other because we are in the neighborhood, and we can overcome failures together and enjoy the delicious food. It's done. What is Karaban? : A manju filled with red bean paste that has the texture of a rice cracker and is made into an oval shape and baked using a representative confection that has been passed down since ancient times. (The ones containing yuzu are also popular. The ingredients are strong flour, white sugar, brown powdered sugar, starch syrup, tansan, and water! I would like to make it again! |
