~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Uwajima and the sea ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

 Ehime Prefecture is a city where not only citrus fruits but also pearls and sea bream are cultivated. The production volume of both is the highest in Japan! Uwakai is the prefecture's main production area. Uwajima Bay has a ria type topography that is very suitable for the aquaculture industry, but at the same time, it is also prone to collecting trash.  A lot of small garbage accumulates inside the breakwater and at the back of the tetrapod, which is hard to see. Among them, plastic waste is difficult to decompose naturally and gradually becomes smaller and smaller. These are called microplastics, and fish mistake them for food and eat them, humans eat them, and they accumulate in their bodies. Large pieces of debris sink to the ocean floor and become marine debris. Once this happens, recovery is extremely difficult.  Most of the marine debris is human garbage. Some of these items are illegally dumped in places that cannot be seen. Why don't we all think about the ocean, which is the source of Uwajima's important industry?

  Goal: Mainly collecting garbage around the Tetrapod, highly difficult, requires a car license as it involves moving by car.
